Stewardship 2021: Consider the Lilies of the Field

“Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these.”  – Matthew 6:28b-29

Our Fall 2021 stewardship appeal “Consider the Lilies of the Field” offers you ways to consider your personal response – spiritually, financially, and practically.

We are excited to have a challenge gift for our 2021 Stewardship appeal!  Six anonymous donors have come forward to provide a total challenge gift of $10,000 if we reach our goal of receiving 75 intent pledge cards and 125 time and talent forms.  And to remind us of our generosity in the coming years, we will be planting lily bulbs in the church gardens that we will first see bloom next summer.

We hope you have enjoyed hearing personal stories about what it means to serve at Good Shepherd and that you have had time to consider how best to share your gifts. We encourage everyone, adults and youth alike, to complete a time and talent form.

You can print and return a hardcopy of the form, but we encourage you to complete the time/talent form online.

Responses will be recorded in the Breeze database and submissions will be followed up by personal contact from council members to make sure your offer of service is recognized and appreciated.  You will receive whatever orientation/training you need to do the work and/or you’ll be partnered with folks who have done it before.

You should have received your pledge card in the mail in early November and we hope you will bring it in person on Intent Sunday. You can print a pledge card here. Please note that GSLC is moving to a calendar-year pledge term from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022.  (The 2020-2021 pledge term has been extended through December 31, 2021.)

On Intent Sunday, November 14, bring your intent card and join us in worship as we celebrate our intentions of giving in grateful response to God’s provision in our lives.
