Building a Culture of Generosity was the theme of our 2020 fall stewardship appeal. We are pleased to share the good news of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church’s generous giving during this appeal. With the continued giving of the entire congregation and more than a third of families increasing their intended generosity, the 2020 Stewardship appeal netted the highest pledged dollar amount since 2009. In the first quarter of calendar year 2021, our congregation’s giving increased by 9% as compared with the first quarter of calendar year 2020, which was largely prior to the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic when in-person worship was suspended mid-March 2020. By joining together, our congregation will be able to continue to share the Gospel here and across the country and world through our many ministries.
We all have stories to tell of acts of generosity and we all have stories to share about how important this faith community is to us. Videos of shared stories are linked below.
If you are new to Good Shepherd or never got a chance to complete an intent card to declare the generosity that you intend to share with this congregation, you can print one (https://gslc.mckendall.net/about/committees/resources-committee/intent-card-printable/) and send it in anytime . The decision on how much to give should not be made without seeking first in prayer what God would have us do and listening for the voice of God in the prayer conversation. Giving to the church is not a financial transaction. Instead, giving to the church is a spiritual exercise undertaken only after conversation with God.
Thank you for being part of this exciting congregation. Pray for our common work together as we continue to reach out with the Gospel.

Stewardship 2020: Building a Culture of Generosity
Building a Culture of Generosity is the theme of our 2020 fall stewardship appeal. This theme points us to the generosity that we have witnessed around our church in these last months, but also points us to know that we can grow our ministries in even more profound ways.
We all have stories to tell of acts of generosity and we all have stories to share about how important this faith community is to us. Links to videos of shared stories will be listed here as they become available.
Your intent card will be mailed to your home around October 22 (click here to print an intent card). The decision on how much to give should not be made without seeking first in prayer what God would have us do and listening for the voice of God in the prayer conversation. Giving to the church is not a financial transaction. Instead, giving to the church is a spiritual exercise undertaken only after conversation with God.
So, in the coming weeks, please engage the materials. Pray about how you can become more generous. Then, on Intent Sunday, November 1, return your intent card at our special drive-in service at 10:30 a.m. to declare the generosity that you intend to share with this congregation.
Thank you for being part of this exciting congregation. Pray for our common work together as we continue to reach out with the Gospel.
